Markthalle Neun has become a Berlin “hipster” institution over the last 5 years. It was formerly a somewhat unattractive market hall built in the late 19th century.
These days it operates as a “cutting edge” food venue with a weekly Street Food Thursday and a monthly Breakfast market.
The concept is nice, but the place has turned into a tourist trap. You have to pay 2-3 euros to enter, then pay another 5-8 euros for breakfast. In Berlin, you can get a great breakfast for less than 8 euros. So, paying to enter and then more for a very small breakfast doesn’t make much sense.
Yep, it is a tourist trap. Best to avoid it, unless you’re a hipster and feel the need to be seen.
